Steady-state outcomes…

Steady-state outcomes in deterministic models of disease only depend on the initial conditions, i.e. the basins of attraction for each outcome have well-defined boundaries. If we assume that patients possess different sets of parameters in a given model, their basins of attraction will vary. The prediction of the outcomes for a population of patients is then limited by the amount overlap of these basins of attraction.
